She founded Everybody Matters as a non-profit to train college level social work interns to teach lifelong coping and social skills, free of charge, to children in the school system who are unable to access those services elsewhere. She went on to the University of Arizona and received her bachelors in Family Studies and Human Development with a minor in Public Health. Her background is in science (Chemistry B.A., Brigham Young University) and secondary education. Lisa has focused on community and connection in her teaching and volunteer work, and earned her master’s degree in Education in 2012 (Concordia University) with an emphasis in creating an inclusive classroom environment. In addition to her work with Everybody Matters, Lisa has volunteered to teach early morning courses for high school students and has directed a summer youth theater workshop for 17 years. In her free time, she enjoys her family time, her dogs, and long walks..
